So far, our grassroots association of public health students and grads has already achieved a lot. In March 2022, we gathered 2,450 signatures on a sign-on letter to the Senate HELP committee to push for public health student loan repayment (see below) via the PREVENT Pandemics Act; and we advocated for HR 3297 in the House.

In August/September 2022, we organized the nation’s first Public Health Students and Graduates Hill Week, with 21 meetings with elected officials and 100+ students and graduates participating.

We succeeded in getting the Public Health Workforce Loan Repayment program authorized for $100 million per year through 2025… BUT NO FUNDING was appropriated. Until loan repayment for public health graduates is actually FUNDED, we need every public health student and graduate to keep on pushing this issue.

Write to your US Senator or member of the House of Representatives, and ask them to provide full funding for public health student loan repayment. Here’s a letter you can send:
